SeeYou Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the SeeYou mobile application, also branded as See You Calendar, its website, and related services. SeeYou is developed, published, and operated by SEE YOU CALENDAR LLC. The Android application ID is com.seeyou.app.

Last updated: August 5, 2026

1. Who We Are

In this policy, “SeeYou,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to SEE YOU CALENDAR LLC, the developer and operator of the SeeYou app and services. Questions, privacy requests, and complaints may be sent to [email protected].

2. Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use, SeeYou may collect:

  • Account and profile information: name, display name, email address, telephone number, country, profile photograph, account identifiers, login credentials, and authentication tokens.
  • Events, tasks, and communications: event titles, dates, times, locations, guest lists, invitations, RSVP and arrival status, tasks, reminders, attachments, chat messages, feedback, and other content you submit.
  • Location information: precise or approximate device location, movement updates, arrival status, and the time a location update was received when location features are enabled.
  • Shared-link guest information: a guest name, event identifier, location, movement updates, and arrival information when someone chooses to join or share location through an event link without creating a SeeYou account.
  • Calendar information: calendar events and related details when you choose or permit calendar synchronization.
  • Contacts: contact details only when you choose a feature that requires contacts and grant the relevant device permission.
  • Files and media: photographs, avatars, event attachments, and other files you choose to upload.
  • Device and technical information: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, language, time zone, Firebase or Apple notification tokens, Live Activity or ongoing-notification identifiers and update tokens, diagnostic logs, crash information, and security or session information.
  • Website information: browser type, pages viewed, interactions, and cookies or similar technologies used to operate and secure the website.

3. Foreground and Background Location

SeeYou collects and transmits precise location while you use the app to determine your city and time zone, select your current location, coordinate physical events, calculate arrival information, and show live progress to participants in the same event.

If you enable background location, SeeYou may collect and transmit precise location even when the app is closed or not in use. Background location is used during the tracking window for a physical event to provide live-location and arrival updates. Relevant location and arrival information may be visible to participants in that event.

Location access is optional. You can decline the permission, disable location in SeeYou, or change the permission in your device settings. Doing so disables or limits location-dependent features. SeeYou does not use precise location for advertising and does not sell location data.

A person using a shared event link may also choose to provide live location without creating an account. That location is used only for the selected event and may be visible to its host and participants. Closing the sharing experience or withdrawing browser location permission stops new location updates.

4. How We Use Information

  • Create, authenticate, secure, and maintain user accounts.
  • Create and manage events, tasks, invitations, reminders, chats, calendar synchronization, notifications, iOS Live Activities, and Android ongoing event notifications.
  • Provide maps, time-zone resolution, live location, estimated arrival, and arrival-status features.
  • Send service, security, event, and support communications.
  • Diagnose crashes, prevent fraud or abuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve reliability and accessibility.
  • Comply with applicable law, enforce our terms, and protect users, SEE YOU CALENDAR LLC, and the public.

5. Live Activities and Notifications

For an eligible ongoing physical event, SeeYou may schedule, remotely start, update, and end an iOS Live Activity or Android ongoing notification. These features may display the event title, participant name, estimated arrival time, and arrival status on the lock screen, Dynamic Island, or notification area, including while the app is in the background. Anyone with access to the unlocked or visible device screen may be able to see that information.

We process Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens, Apple push-to-start and activity-update tokens, event identifiers, and activity identifiers to deliver and manage these updates. These tokens are service identifiers, not advertising identifiers. You can disable notifications or Live Activities in device settings, although doing so limits these features.

6. When We Share Information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose information:

  • To other SeeYou users: profile, event, invitation, message, arrival, and location information needed for events in which you participate.
  • To service providers: cloud hosting, database, authentication, push-notification, crash-reporting, mapping, geocoding, file-storage, email, and support providers that process information for us.
  • For integrations you select: Apple, Google, Facebook, calendar, mapping, or meeting services when you connect or use those services. Their own privacy policies also apply.
  • For legal and safety reasons: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, enforce agreements, investigate abuse, or protect rights, safety, and property.
  • For a business transfer: as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate notice and safeguards.

7. Third-Party Services and SDKs

SeeYou uses third-party technologies to provide app functionality, including Firebase services for push notifications and crash diagnostics; Google services for maps, directions, geocoding, sign-in, and optional calendar or meeting integrations; Cloudinary for user- selected media and file storage; and Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, Zoom, email, or messaging services when you choose or use the corresponding login, invitation, notification, calendar, or meeting feature. These providers may process device identifiers, diagnostic data, authentication information, or location-related requests as necessary to provide their services. We require providers to handle data only for authorized purposes and subject to applicable safeguards.

8. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These include access controls, secure authentication, encrypted network transmission, restricted production access, and secure device storage for sensitive tracking credentials. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as reasonably necessary to provide the services, maintain event and security records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and satisfy legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of information and its purpose. Location updates are retained only as reasonably needed for event coordination, arrival records, security, and legal requirements. Information may remain temporarily in protected backups until those backups are overwritten according to our backup cycle.

Notification and Live Activity tokens are retained while needed to deliver the requested service and are replaced or removed when they become invalid, the related activity ends, the account is deleted, or they are otherwise no longer required.

10. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may:

  • Access, correct, update, or request a copy of your information.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated information.
  • Withdraw consent or object to certain processing.
  • Disable location, calendar, contacts, camera, files, or notification permissions through SeeYou or device settings.
  • Unsubscribe from optional communications while continuing to receive necessary service and security notices.
  • Submit a complaint to an applicable data-protection authority.

To exercise a privacy right, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

11. Account and Data Deletion

You can request deletion in either of these ways:

  1. In the SeeYou app: open Settings, select Delete Account, and confirm the request.
  2. By email: contact [email protected] with the subject “Account Deletion Request” from, or identifying, the email address associated with your account.

After verification, we delete or anonymize the account, profile, events, messages, uploaded content, and associated location data, except information we must retain for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or other lawful purposes. Requests are generally processed within 3–7 business days, while residual backup copies may expire later through the normal backup cycle.

12. Children’s Privacy

SeeYou is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required in a user’s country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.

13. International Processing

Information may be processed in countries other than the country in which you live. Where required, we use appropriate contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards for international transfers.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our services or legal obligations change. We will publish the revised policy with a new “Last updated” date and provide additional notice when required by law.
